Futuro : A Sports car from Tata
It is quite rare for a car manufacturer from India to produce a traditional sports car. Much to everyone's surprise . Tata which showcased its Aria sports coupe in the 2000 Geneva Motorspot , which was received well by all is now turning its dreams into reality.
Tata Motors' sub-brand TAMO showcased its first production version of its sports coupe named the Futuro at the 2017 Geneva Motorshow . The Futuro inspired by the Opel Speedster , is soon expected to get into production . Tata released very few details about the car . The car is expected to be powered by a 1.5 litre turbo engine which produces 186 bhp .The car is also expected to weigh only 800 kilograms providing maximum power to weight ratio. Most parts of the cars will be made of aluminium composites . The car will be a traditional mid-engined , rear wheel drive vehicle , expected to compete in the Toyota 86 and Nissan Fairlady(350Z) segment.
Tata confirmed that the car would go into production in 2018 and will be available in most European and Asian countries and purchasing the car can be done only by pre-booking as it is a low volume car. Tata expects to produce around 250 cars .
