Seated between the Evoque and the Sport , the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar uses the same aluminium chassis as the Jaguar F-Pace. The Velar is a good mix between the current Range Rover design, with a few extras, like the deployable door handles, copper detailing on the hood, bumper blades and fender vents. The Velar also has one of the least drag coefficient compared to any other Land Rover ever built , in numbers , 0.32.

Since it is a Land Rover the car is capable off the beaten path. With a max ground clearance of 9.88 inches and optional air suspension, wading depths are as high as 26 inches of standing water.

The interior still possess the Land Rover DNA, with horizontal lines and simple layouts. Well ! the greatest change in the interior is the Touch Pro Duo infotainment system as called by Land Rover . The system makes its debut with the Velar hinting its use across the upcoming range of Land Rover SUV's. The system basically uses two 10 inch touchscreen, the bottom working climate controls and off road modes while the top focusses on media , navigation and telephony.

The Velar will be sold in the US and Europe with three engine options , a 2.0 litre 247hp petrol , a 180hp diesel and a 380hp 3.0 litre V6. There is also a First Edition variant , which packs the most luxuries compared to any other trim but its production is limited to 500 units only.
