Top upcoming cars 2018 : What to expect

As Summer approaches 2017 is entering its mid phase and its time for automakers to churn their models for the upcoming year. Here is a preview of what upcoming cars might have in store for us.

1. Toyota Camry 2018

Its been quite a long time since Toyota have released quite interesting cars, but 2018 surely seems to be a promising year for Toyota with the All-new Supra around the corner and the C-HR landing into dealerships by January. With a dwindling sales of Toyota's large sedan Avalon and a discontinued  Aurion (Not sold in the US) Toyota seems to establish itself back into the markets that were once being ruled by the charming Avalon and the funky Aurion.

Though the Camry is the best selling sedan in the US, its never been known for its dynamic styling. Well thats about to change from 2018, with a much lower stance, longer and wider body the model range differs a lot from the base to the top XSE and the Hybrid variants. The car will feature an All-new 2.5 litre engine and the higher variants will feature a V6 engine which was discontinued in 2005 for the Camry.

2. Ford Expedition 2018

Ford Endeavour to be sold as the Bronco
The Expedition that has been in the same basic outfit for a very, very long, time now is finally getting a complete makeover from the ground up. The SUV will feature an all new aluminium chassis instead of the traditional steel, shedding loads of weight, which is mated with an efficient powertrain, is expected to give it better numbers while on the road. As speculated, the SUV shares its platform with the F-150 which helps it gain the big brother feel over the Explorer.

Ford also leaked that the Bronco and the Ranger names will be revoked and sold in the US. As per the marketing strategy used by Ford USA the Endeavour and the Ranger will be sold in the US as the Bronco and Ranger. Ford has been selling the new Endeavour in Australia, Africa and parts of Asia since 2017. The rebadged Bronco is expected to compete against the Toyota 4Runner in the US market while it competes with the Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-X and the Chevy Trailblazer around the world.

3. Kia Stinger

When you think of high performance sport-sedans, Kia probably doesn't come to mind. However, Kia  took the wraps off its all new 365hp, rear wheel drive, sport sedan named the Stinger.

Expected to hit dealerships by the summer of 2018, Kia has gone far from creating dull looking cars, into creating market oriented competitors.

The Stinger also gave rise to an unnamed sport sedan from Hyundai which was leaked following the launch of the Stinger. It is speculated that the car will be developed the Genesis firm owned by Hyundai and will be based on the outgoing Genesis coupe.

4. Lexus LS

2017 has been a year of strenuous work for Lexus R&D and robots. Two new cars will been launched by Lexus this year both 2018 versions, 1. The LC 500, already hitting dealerships and 2. The LS .
The LS has been the Flagship sedan for Lexus since its launch in 1990.

Sitting much lower than any of its predecessors,
with sporty dynamics inherited by Lexus in the recent past. The LS is equipped with a 3.5 litre V6 producing 410hp, mated to a 10 speed automatic transmission. Much like other Lexus products the 2018 LS is also equipped with plump sofas called seats as the Germans named it. In an apparent move to make any Prius owner feel at home (Secret: They think Prius owners saved the unspent gasoline costs to buy an LS or an LC) the LS and the LC are equipped with a dopey shifter, which by itself is one palm sized leather nugget.

5. Volkswagen Atlas

Volkswagen is all set to try its luck in the Mid-size SUV segment which has been ruled by the Toyota Highlander, Nissan Pathfinder and the Honda Pilot. The Volkswagen Atlas is offered with a four-cylinder and a powerful V6 engine. Accessing the third row is a challenge in all the other SUV's in this segment, but thats not the case with the Atlas because its seats fold forwards to provide maximum space for the third row occupants even with child seats in place.

Volkswagen's customisable digital cockpit will be available on the Atlas , as will a number of advanced electronic safety aids and driver assistance systems. Hybrid  R-Line Sport and Electric variants of the SUV are also expected to hit the markets sometime in the future given VW's vision of creating all electric vehicles.
