Top Youtube channels for the Petrolhead of the Future

Are you a Petrol-head? Do you fancy owning your dream car in the future? or are you an automotive enthusiast? Then this is the the right place for you to be.

I'm sure that all of us have watched the three great blokes from England, the rich TV host from USA and many other people do shows on cars, but what they do is all commercial and not what they do on a day-to-day basis. They review and ride everything from scrap metals on wheels to iconic classics and record breaking super-cars.Although it might be fun to watch them on Television or on the Internet TV, that is exactly not everything a car person does. You tube alone has over a thousand car based channels posting contents on a day-to-day basis and that quite makes every petrol-head wonder which channel to follow. Well we have made our own list of channels that show the essential content that a true car maniacs would want to see, this excludes YouTubers confabulating about how a car looks and who made it blah blah blah... what we've got is people who do the real bits like working on cars, sharing stories of how and why certain cars became success, teaching people how to purchase a low cost dream car and fixing it and hence living with it.

Here is our list of Youtube channels that you can watch when your stuck at home(when the world is up and running once again... who knows you might be ready to get your dream car and start fiddling about)

1) Hoovies Garage:

The story of Tyler Hoover is that of a rags to riches story. He is an American automotive YouTuber who buys far too many cheap cars from really obscure parts of America. He plans to sell most cars and rants about the annoying problems before taking his car to his mechanic/friend aka Car Wizard (who also apparently has a YouTube channel) to mend them. He has a fabulous collection of quirky cars like the Rolls Royce Phantom, Bentley Turbo R to notoriously problematic Mercs and Bimmers.
These are just a few cars to name but there is a whole lot about him and his car that you might find on his channel. He takes you thorough buying a car, fixing costs and running costs. I'm sure he would motivate you to buy your dream car someday.

2) Tavarish

The story of Tavarish is similar to that of Tyler Hoover. But unlike Tyler who buys and gets cars fixed, Tavarish modifies, repairs and sells cars all by himself, something he has been upto since 2011. His channel also explains how to go about detecting errors and problems erupting from pre-owned dream cars and what it takes to fix them up. He has a particular affinity towards fire damaged cars and totaled cars.
He has videos on cars like the Toyota MKIV Supra to Bentleys, Aston Martins and Lamborghinis.

3) Car Throttle

Car throttle is a channel that does stupid things that every car enthusiast dreams. Some of the best portrayals of ideal car nuts are exhibited by turning one of the Jags into an off road car, buying an RX8, to driving a house on wheels. The channel teaches one to find a cheap car and make the best of it before scrapping it for another.
Unlike other channels Car Throttle is a company whose face is the three guys you will see on the YouTube channel.

4) Rich Rebuilds

Are you one of those people who is amazed by the ability of Tesla and at the same time bogged down by the cost of buying one? Well then Rich Rebuilds is a channel that shows you how to buy a cheap Tesla and turn it into a road legal space age car. Rich who built his reputation buying salvaged Tesla's and giving them a new lease of life is the ideal enemy of Tesla... something that he constantly tells on his videos. He is one of the first persons to start an aftermarket service center for Tesla's and has been helping a number of Tesla owners in the USA.
Rich also loves to convert non-electric vehicles into electric vehicles. One of his recent projects is creating a replica of  the Tesla ATV that is very much flying under the radar at the moment but could give companies like Polaris a run for the money.

5) Fully Charged

This channel is squarely aimed at the Electric Petrol-heads. The channel is presented by Johny Smith who has had his fare share in the Fifth Gear program, Robert Llewellyn and Rory Reid to name a few. The channel is one of the few channels that focuses primarily on EVs and Clean Energy. The channel certainly seems to be the bridge from the present to the future and finds out companies building all sorts of transportation from Electric bikes to boats and planes and also shows the new businesses that have cropped up because of the EV revolution. It definitely is a must subscribe and must watch channel.

6) Donut Media

Donut Media is another automotive YouTube channel that uploads videos on a daily basis and by far it is one of the most informative car channels. From Podcasts to YouTube videos and even apparels, they've got everything perfect for a car nerd. The channel has various programs focusing on various areas. They have shows about cars and their stories, videos on car tuning, detailing and mods. The channel literally has answers to all the queries of us gear-heads.

Worth mentioning:

Samcrac

This channel focuses on buying totaled and salvaged car and turn them into profit making machines. The channel takes you from buying cars at local auctions to advice on what kind of cars one can pick while at a salvage auto auction. The channel then uploads videos of how the car is delivered to ordering parts and fixing the car.

Scotty Kilmer

While he may look like a low budget Conan O'Brien, his words are word of god for any car owner. Scotty according to us is the ultimate car guru, the go to man for any problems with car. A Toyota fanatic, Scotty recommends all his viewers to buy a Toyota or a Lexus if they are a smart buyer. He always talks about Toyota's that at times we wonder if he works for the Toyota marketing team, anyways, jokes apart, Toyota does make cars that can outlive a persons life. Scotty himself owns a Toyota Celica and a Lexus ES 350.

This is our list of some of the best Automotive channels from where one can learn a lot about cars. Some may say that these are not the best, well every one has a different taste. Do checkout the above channels if you want to learn some real car stuff.
